I have taught in Alief ISD for more than 20 years, including more than 14 years at Kerr. I currently serve as the head theatre director, Kerr Fine Arts Department Chair, and Alief ISD Intermediate Theatre Lead Teacher.
I truly believe in the power of each student and giving each student a voice. Once they learn to trust that they are a strong voice in the classroom, they will learn that their voices are just as powerful in their future. We specialize in creative and powerful experiences that teach students that they can be the leaders of tomorrow.
I graduated from SUNY College at Brockport and was a part of the Arts for Children program where I was able to create a program that brought struggling students from the city of Rochester who were in fear of dropping out to participate in an Arts program that taught them African Dance with some very special artists. Over 300 kids showed up. I knew in that moment (I knew before but there was a spotlight here) that the arts can change the worlds of the people that they touch - the kids that need a light in their life to remind them how powerful they really are. This is my calling and I am so proud to be a part of Alief where I can share this with these amazing students.
I look forward to meeting your students and to see their light shine!!
